We were driving a South Texas highway through the country near sunset when we passed this tree at 75 miles an hour. I only saw it for a moment, but audibly gasped at the beauty of it. We literally turned around and went back so I could make this photo. What we found when we stopped was this bare tree reflecting in a stock pond. The sunset light behind it was a brilliant orange with a slow gradient rising up to the purple and blues overhead of the coming night.
I have watched for this spot again driving that same highway, but have never found the spot again. The beauty of the scene was apparently as fleeting as the sunset itself. Make sure you stop and appreciate the moments this world gives you.
